Rare Vos - Flemish for Sly Fox. Deep copper in color
with a spicy floral aroma. A medium bodied beer with a rich
complex taste coming from caramel malts, herbs and spices to

Maredsous 8° - Brewed by the famed Moortgat Brewery
(Duvel) for the nearby Maredsous Benedictine Abbey. Deep tawny

Maredsous 10° - Big frothy head shoots up the glass.
Complex aroma. Big crisp flavors that disguise the high amounts

Ommegang - Brewed since 1997 this the brewery's flagship
beer. Top fermented bottle conditioned. A rich fruity, aromatic
Burgundian brew. Smooth and well balanced. The best Belgian

Three Philosophers - Possibly the best Belgian style
beer produced in the US. Very translucent appearance. Meady
alcohol vapors. Very complex. Malty flavor without being cloyingly
sweet. Blended with a small amount of cherry lambic. This really
comes through as the temperature rises. Heavy slow drinker.

St Bernadus Abt 12 - Dark brown. Alcohol is not subtle.
It really provide a pleasant warming effect without coming across
as harsh. Suits well with a tangy cheese such as Gruyere. 10%

Terrible - Dark brown body sits under a sumptuous head
of foam. Fruity aroma enhanced by hints of roasted malt and
Madeira. Full bodied with a long lasting flavor. Savour it on

Maudite - Dark amber color. Bottle conditioned. Strong
and full of flavor. Moderate carbonation although the beer boasts
a full head. It creates an initial zing on the tongue, rather

Trois Pistoles - A dark ale. Plenty of malt in the nose
along with plum notes. Full flavour and body from start to finish.
Mellow after taste with suggestions of port wine. Smooth all

Unibroue 15 - Annual brew. Orange color. Whisky like
aroma. Initial sweetness that dries out somewhat in the finish.

Carolus Saxo - Very pale. Strong herbal characteristics
along with adequate bitterness. Estery notes with hints of yeast.

white head and a dry spiciness. It gets its flavour from a combination

Duvel (Devil) - One of the world's most famous beers.
Extremely fragrant with a fruity palate and the lightest touch
of dryness. Like Champagne secondary fermentation and long maturation

Don De Dieu - Dense frothy head with a pleasing honey
color. Hoppy aroma with detectable alcohol. Dry, light, spicy,
delicate floral flavors that linger. Good with robust chicken

La Fin Du Monde - The much loved French Canadian. Very
complex and strong. Flavored with coriander and curacao orange

Kasteel Tripel - One of the finest examples of the style
in our opinion. Also known as Biere du Chateau. The chateau
or castle pictured on the label dates back to 1736. Incredibly
smooth despite the power of the alcohol content. Flavors balance

Bitter/Pale Ale
Bass Pale Ale - One of England's classic ales. Flowery
aroma. Crisp hops to start followed by malt and slight nuttiness.
4.4% ABV. England / Bass / 12 oz
Black Sheep Ale - Amber colored. Touch of fruity sweetness
in the aroma. Quite bitter with a dry finish. Slight rosty flavors
reminisent of a darker beer. Clean tasting. From Masham Yorkshire.

Monty Python's Holy
- Copper ale. Appley CO2 scents rise from the glass. Light bodied
with a pleasing dry finish. Simple well made English beer. 4.7%

Bluebird Bitter - It looks and tastes like a good pint
of bitter from your favorite English pub. The brewer has achieved
this by only lightly carbonating the beer and a combination
of Maris Otter malt and Challenger hops. The beer is a multiple
award winner with its highest accolade being Champion Beer of
Britain 1998. 4.2% ABV. England / Coniston Brewing / 16.9 oz
Summer Lightning - Pale golden color. Layered aroma of
light hops over a background of malt. Clean white head that
covers a lightly carbonated bottle-conditioned ale. Refreshing
taste of hops balanced by the malts. Hint of citrus. Crisp,
dry finish. Sip it outside on a warm summer evening while watching

Old Brewery Pale Ale - Copper honey hue. Delicate head.
Subdued hop aroma. Dry throughout with a slight nutty taste.
Hop character fades away nicely. Overall crisp and clean troughout.
Probably due to the Yorkshire Square fermentation system. 5%

Organic English Ale - Presented in what appears to be
a medicine bottle - very cool! Certified organic ingredients.
Pale orange color. Hint of marmalade in the aroma. Toasty honey
flavors come through initially. Dry bitter finish. Very nice
unusal flavors that I really struggled to put my finger on.

Bitter/Pale Ale Strong Bitter
Broadside - Dark, deep, amber red color. Rich heady aroma
with strong honey undertones. Malty yet crisp flavors that don't
try and hide the slightly higher strength of this brew. 6.2%

Brown Ale
Samm Smith Nutbrown - Rusty brown color with a fluffy
white head. A very well balanced nutbrown. Treacle flavors from
the roasted malt work well with the moderate amounts of hops.
Lots of nut suggestion - of course. Medium bodied. 5% ABV. England

Newcastle Brown - A beer for Northern English blokes.
Pale brown color. Lots of nutty character. Medium bodied. Plenty
of malt presence in the finish. 4.7% ABV. England / Scottish

Theakston's Old Peculiar - Brewing since 1827 in Masham,
Yorkshire. Dark reddish brown. Delicate English hops on the
nose. Taste - Full bodied malty ale with just enough hops to
balance. Fairly dry finish. Overall rather nice and great value.

Hobgoblin - Appearance of cola (except for the frothy
white head). Medium bodied and reasonably sweet. The sweetness
coupled with only light carbonation make for an incredibly smooth
mouthfeel. 5.5% ABV. England / Wychwood / 12 oz
Doppelbock
Celebrator - A German classic. Dark ruby body. Appealing
salty sweet aroma. Malt dominates throughout. Dries out slightly
in the finish. Medium to full body. 7.2% ABV. Germany / Ayinger

Optimator - Brewed since 1397. Dark amber appearance.
Caramel roasted flavors. Bitter burnt taste is noticable but
offset with plenty of sweetness. Smooth mouthfeel with a clean

Dunkel-Weisse
Ur-Weisse - Naturally cloudy wheat beer. Much darker
than hefe-weizens. Roasted malt flavor with hints of lemon and
orange. Noticeable alcohol presence. Strong warming beer. 5.8%

Eisbock
Kulmbacher Eisbock - Eisbocks are created by freezing
off a portion of the water, and removing it from the beer. This
concentrates the beer's body, flavor, and alcohol content. This
example is a deep brown with an lots of body and upfront sweetness.
Suprising mellow in the mouth. Great in the colder months. 9.2%

Fruit Beer
Melbourne Brothers Cherry - Spontaneously fermented.
Christmas red color. Cherry aroma oozes from the glass. A lot
of initial sweetness comes through with the strong cherry flavor.
The finish is satisfyingly tart. 3.4% ABV. England / Melbourne

Quelque Chose (kel-ke-show) - A strong ale that is steeped
for 6 months in cherries. This provides a wonderful fresh fruit
flavor. The beer can be served warm. Ask your server if this

Hard Cider
K - Strong medium sweet cider made with Somerset apples.
Rich orange color. A lot of nut character. This is especially
evident when mixed in Snakebites. 6.9% ABV. England / Matthew

Hefe Weizen
Brau Weisse - Authentic Bavarian Hefe-Weizen. Unfiltered
wheat beer. Soft mouth feel. Hints of banana and clove. Not
overpowering like some examples can be. Some like a lemon with
this type of beer (we don't think it needs it). 5.1% ABV. Germany

Pinkus Hefe-Weizen - Organic ingredients make up this beer.
Fragile head with a slightly fermented orange aroma. Soft wheat
flavours balanced by a tart finish. Be sure your server gets

Franziskaner - Alledgedly the tipple of choice for Pope
Benedict. Nice hint of citrus. Medium body. Tangy crisp finish.
A great choice for someone looking to try something new, but

Imperial Stout
Big Bear Black Stout - Appearance of dark mollasses with
the merest hint of ruby at the glass edge. Dense brown head.
Treacle aroma with hints of liquorice. Medium bodied with a
creamy mouthfeel. Heavily roasted with a suggestion of sweet
oranges. Leaves a dry crisp finish. 8.1% ABV. USA / Bear Republic

Black Chocolate Stout (Winter 07-08) - Thick brown head.
Very dark body although if you hold it to the light there is
a ruby to be found. Heady aroma of bitter chocolate and alcohol.
Heavy, syrupy body. Dry burnt flavors explode in the mouth.

Sam Smith Imperial Stout - Thick brown head sit on top
of the jet black body. Heavy feel in the mouth. Strong alcohol
and fresh apple aroma. Lots of smokey burnt malt flavor. Clinging

I.P.A. American
Hop Rod Rye - Aged oak color. Definate spicy rye aroma.
Good steady head. Dry mouthfeel. HOPS. Huge malt presence that
is overwhelmed by the amount of hops. This crazy tasting beer
lingers in the mouth for some time. 8% ABV. USA / Bear Republic

Racer 5 I.P.A. - Pours with a slight haze. Seems normal
with this brewery. Provides a nosebag full of hops. Sharp carbonation.
Full bodied. Plenty of malt that finds itsely dominated by the
hops in there. A quinessential American craft ale. Did I mention
it was hoppy? 7% ABV. USA / Bear Republic / 22 oz
I.P.A. English
India Ale - Young copper color. Historic British style.
Fluffy white head. Very clean, hoppy aroma. Immediate bitterness
with hints of orange zest and apricot. Malt balance comes through
very late in the finish. Satisfying thirst quencher. 5% ABV.

Lager Amber
Sam Adams Boston Lager - Amber color. Good hop aroma
with a malt backdrop. Caramel malt flavors come through with
fresh hoppy finish that lasts. Medium bodied. 4.9% ABV. USA

Lager Blonde
Amstel Light - Low hops with a malty finish. Premium
light beer. 3.5% ABV. Holland / Amstel / 12 oz /
Corona Extra - Very light on flavor. Designed to be drank
in hot climates with a lime pushed into the bottle for a citrus
twist. Quite refreshing if a little dull. 4.6% ABV. Mexico /
Cerveceria / 12 oz
Labbatt Blue and Blue Light - Canada's number 1 exported
lager. 5% ABV Blue / 4% ABV Light. Canada / Labatt / 11.2 oz
Pilsner Urquell - Urquell meaning original source gives
you a clue of the beer's long history. Brewed using Bohemian
Saaz hops. These impart a flowery, spicy aroma and leave a bitter
finish. Moravain barley malt provides a great balance. 4.4%

Red Stripe - An easy going lager that is traditionally
drank in warm weather. We find it is popular year round. 5%

Organically Produced Lager Beer - A full bodied yet smooth
lager. A rare style for an English craft brewery. Sam Smith's
only sells their own products in their pubs, so they obviously
need a top notch lager in the portfolio. 5% ABV. England / Samuel

Lambic
Cantillon Rose de Gambrinus - "The most famous Framboise"
according to beer writer Michael Jackson. This is not like the
sweetened lambic from Lindemans. Very dry, tart and acidic.
Similar characteristics to a fruity champagne. Fermented by
wild yeasts found in the local air in ancient oak casks with
whole fresh raspberries. As far as lambic beers are concerned
it doesn't get anymore authentic than this. 5% ABV. Belgium

Framboise - Fermented using wild yeast found in the air.
This takes up to two years. Plenty of fruit makes for a sweet
start. This is balanced by acidic tartness. It is a great thirst
quencher in the summer months. 2.5% ABV. Belgium / Lindemans

Gueuze (Gur-Zur) - Lambic without fruit. Tart aroma that
is countered by the sweet taste. Similar to the bolder Cuvee
Rene but with the addition of sugar for a much sweeter result.
A good beginner Gueuze or simply an enjoyable drink for anyone
with a sweet tooth. 4% ABV. Belgium / Lindemans / 12 oz
Cuvee Rene Gueuze (Gur-Zur) - The only traditional lambic
from Lindeman's brewery. A blend of young and old lambics that
provide varying degrees of sourness. Pale strawberry hue. Fruity
vinegar aroma. Exceptionally dry. Lip smakingly sour. Champagne
personality. An unquestionably superb, yet challenging drink.

Kaliber - Guinness' non alcoholic offering. Not a stout

Entire Butt - Dark stout like color. Pungent acidic aroma.
Vinous and tangy. Woody flavour with slight spicyness. Suggestion

Taddy Porter - Black cherry color. Aroma of liquorice
and red apple peelings. Dry on palate with toasty mellow flavors.
Superb balance, very clean tasting. Carbonation tingles without

Old Style Porter - Pours a deep reddish brown. Light
carbonation helps for a soft mouthfeel. Surprisingly lightbodied.

Hennepin - Light orange color. Malt and fruit in the
aroma. Dry and well carbonated like a Champagne. Delectable
hop presence. Lots of ginger mixed with other spices. Silky

Scotch Ale
McEwans Scotch Ale - Looks and some what smells like
mollasses. Sweet and smooth with raisin like character. Finishes
with a pleasing alcohol warmth. One of the best Scotch ales

Stout
Beamish - Looks just like a Guinness. Mild aroma. Silky
smooth. A touch sweeter than Guinness. Light bodied. 4.1% ABV.

Entire Stout - Frothy Cappacino like head. Subtle aroma.
Great flavor! Wonderful suggestions of bitter chocolate and
weak black coffee. Velvety smooth mouthfeel. Bottle conditioned.
When I first tried this beer I got the same feeling that you

Oatmeal Stout - A beer with notes of oatmeal, honey and
whisky. This is a great example of the style. Delicately poised
between the sweet and the dry. An Old Toad favorite since we

Double Chocolate - Made with chocolate essence. Incredibly
smooth silky feel in the mouth. Sweet on initial taste. Chocolate
seems to compliment the dark malt flavors very well indeed.
The finish is long and slightly bitter. Who needs dessert? 5%

Rochefort 6 - Brown ale. Fairly Light bodied. Earthy.
Dry and bitter. Overall quite drinkable. 7.5% ABV. Belgium /

Rochefort 8 - Aroma - Treacle, plums and chocolate. Medium
body with delicate carbonation. Flavors match up closely to

Chimay Blue - The strongest of the three Chimays. Very
rich and fruity. Almost port like. Complex with subtle hints
of spices including nutmeg and thyme on the finish. Is also

Chimay Red - The original beer at Chimay and was the
only one for a long time. Rich red/brown color with a raisin
aroma. Spicy, blackcurrant fruit flavor. Full bodied and very

Chimay White - Triple ale. Straw color. Fruity bouquet.
Orange zest is detectable along with hints of malt. Long bitter
finish. High carbonation due to bottle conditioning. Complex

Konings Hoeven Dubbel - From Holland's only Trappist
brewery. A very rare beer. Dark body. Full bodied. Displays
a lot of dried fruit notes. Slightly aged character. Would pair

Konings Hoeven Quadruppel - From Holland's only Trappist
brewery. A very rare beer. Deep red color. Caramel/toffee flavors.
Full bodied to the point of almost being syrupy. Overall incredibly
rich with plenty of sweetness. A great dessert beer. 10% ABV.

Westmalle Tripel - Dusky orange hue. Spicy orange zest
aroma. Loads of carbonation. Bitter marmalade flavor. Medium
body. Bitter finish lingers as a reminder of what just passed

Orval - Triple fermentation. Very dry with plenty of
sour fruitiness. Pale orange in color. Hoppy aroma due to dry

Achel Extra - One of the most highly rated trappist ales
brewed today. Reddish brown ale. Mild spices in the bouquet.
Sweet and malty with a hint of herbs. Moderate carbonation assits

Weizen Bock
Aventinus - Reddish brown. Sharp carbonation, warming

Wit Bier
Witte - In the style of a Belgian wheat. Pours with a
full head. Cloudy yellow body. Plenty of citrus notes come through.

Blanche de Chambly - A wheat ale in the traditional Belgian
style. Cloudy appearance. Faint apple with strong floral notes
